The Intensive Care Unit. A comedy about four people with terminal diseases discussing who will die first. What begins as a mournful dialogue about each of their illnesses gradually becomes a hilarious competition to be the first to die.

The Chef is auditioning for an opportunity to have his own cooking show on TV. It is up to one audience member to decide whether he passes the test. The Chef must accomplish an impossible task: in less than ten minutes, he must make the audience member taste their favourite meal, all the while being in different cities.

NITE presents ‘Black Against White‘ (Negro contra Blanca).

As a result of an accident, Negro becomes a quadriplegic.  During his stay in the hospital, he meets his caretaker, Blanca. What emerges is a strange and desperate love story between the two, in which Negro asks Blanca to end his unbearable life confined to his bed.

Toñita is alone, facing her emptiness. A final step and her body will float in the air just for a moment before crashing to the ground. One small step and it will all end. Everything. She takes a breath, then releases it, as if this last exhalation was the preamble to her final release. When she is about to take the last step, someone grabs her by the arm. It is her mother. They talk about the reasons why Toñita does it and which of the two will jump first…

Meanwhile a group of aristocrats, ruled by Helmut Ronen, are creating the perfect city as an answer to all of society’s problems.Ronensbourgh is finally built and it works because it has a new language and form of communication that does not contemplate violence – but if you want to move to Ronensbourgh get ready to be lobotomized.

There are objects that contain mysterious stories.  Objects that open doors to the fantastical and give you access to strange worlds.  It is through one of these objects, “An Extreme Red”, that Oesterheld the librarian encounters Rais, a mysterious and dangerous woman who takes him on an exciting adventure linked to the fetishistic power of relics that are highly desired by a select group of collectors.

InterTeatro

InterTeatro

NITE is proud to present “InterTeatro” – a project by Beatriz Cabur and the Cervantes Institute of Milan with the objective of internationally promoting contemporary Spanish drama. InterTeatro is a new form of theatre that, through the use of technology, combines traditional methods with new forms of communication. The plays that make up InterTeatro are a combination of different formats:

  1. Live, online broadcast of actors who are performing in another city.
  2. Pre-recorded videos.
  3. Live performances on stage.

InterTeatro is a project comprised of 46 people directed by Beatriz Cabur that researched and experimented, alongside film director Alex Rios, with multiple new combinations of telepresence, video and diferent media in order to create ground-breaking shows.

‘Los Colibríes’ is a comedy of menace that takes place in a very near future where, if you are out of work, you are assigned a job by the unemployment office.  Odds are, you’ll hate the job, but as the two employment officers say “If you can walk, you can work!”  One day, their routine is broken after a fatal act of violence, and delicate questions arise about responsibility, loyalty and killer hummingbirds.
